First official glimpse of Jennifer, Josh, and Sam Claflin as Finnick Odair!
"DreamWorks has picked up the movie rights to Leigh Bardugo’s bestseller Shadow and Bone, about an orphan girl whose ability to harness a rare magic makes her one of her nation’s most coveted warriors.
Holly Bario, DreamWorks’ president of production, will announce the acquisition later today, and although every studio would like to grab a fresh YA book series in the hope that it can be turned into the next Harry Potter-style film franchise, not every film has the actual producer of the Potter movies overseeing it.
Shadow and Bone would be the exception.
David Heyman, who in the late ’90s had the wise instinct to secure the film rights to J.K. Rowling’s wizard-verse, will produce Shadow and Bone, along with Jeffrey Clifford (Up in the Air), who is president of his Heymaker Films.
The book, which debuted in June, is set in a fantasy version of Russia called Ravka, which is bisected by a territory called the Shadow Fold, brimming with a breed of flying fiends who feast on human flesh. The leadership of Ravka studies children to find those who can wield the power of the elements — fire, wind, water — or can mystically heal, then recruits these powerful young ones into the elite monster-fighting squad known as The Grisha, while all others are conscripted into brutal life in the regular army.
Alina Starkov is one of the latter — a seeming nobody who serves as a mere cartographer until her best friend, Mal, is wounded in an attack, triggering her latent ability to harness the power of light. Not many others in Ravka can do that, and Alina becomes both a prize and a target due to her rare abilities.
It’s not clear yet who would direct the project, or adapt the screenplay, and since the deal just closed there’s not yet a firm timeline for getting the film into production and out into theaters.
Shadow and Bone is the first installment in Bardugo’s planned “Grisha Trilogy,” so DreamWorks could have a whole series on its hands if the film finds an audience.
Bardugo’s next book in the series will be called Siege and Storm, with a planned release date of June 2013, while an as-yet-untitled third installment is due out in summer 2014." - EW

Also the crew has been spotted in Atlanta this past week getting ready to possible shoot on location for the movie sequel. So if you live down in the Southeastern part of the United States, then you'll probably be able to see the cast filming on location!

DISTRICT TWELVE’S OTHER VOLUNTEER?*This is posted on the Capitol Couture website and is something cool they are doing for the movie. So far this is the second character they have featured on the web page. There is so much to explore for this movie in terms of online. They have ID badges that you can now order and own of the district you assigned to on capitol.pn, there is a capitol tour of panem that is to open with in the coming days/weeks before the movie, and so much more! By now, avid Hunger Games fans are well aware that Katniss Everdeen is District 12’s first volunteer Tribute in decades - but she won’t be the only volunteer on Team 12 at the 74th Hunger Games! Meet Cinna, the hotly-tipped young stylist who — get this — actually requested to work with the D12 Tributes. We have to say, this brave if not odd entreaty has been paying off — everyone from Mayor Luna to Seneca Crane has been clamoring to see what Cinna’s got in store for 12!
But is it really that surprising? After all, Cinna is no rookie Tribute when it comes to the arena of Haute Couture. After a number of years studying under revered Capitol designer and fashion fixture Judianna Makovsky, he was able to open his own downtown atelier. From there, he has been designing everything from gowns and headpieces to club-collar shirts and ultra-sleek anoraks for our city’s elite under an eponymous label for almost a decade. He is known to go deep conceptually - constantly breaking new ground with innovative textiles, materials and even chemical compounds - applying them to everything from gowns and headpieces to club-collar shirts and ultra-sleek anoraks. His designs and ensembles have been described by many as elaborate, unique to their wearer and awash with emotion.
For such a calm and collected guy, we find the effusiveness of Cinna’s design captivating. He told us, “For as long as I can remember, I have always channeled my emotions into my work.” With a wink, he quietly added, “I think it’s safest that way.”
Speaking of safe, if you haven’t been glued to your TV set like a normal person this time of year, Cinna can almost always be seen in the simplest of all-black ensembles accented exclusively by his signature Liquid Skyliner eyeliner (which, we might add, totally brings out the adorable gold flecks in his eyes). His minimalism makes even President Snow’s execu-chic style seem outrageous. When asked about his personal, visibly understated wardrobe and disregard for Capitol fads, Cinna said, “I put so much passion and creativity into my work that sometimes there’s not much leftover for myself.”
And of course we couldn’t sit down with Cinna without asking him the questions on every Hunger Games fan’s mind: What does he have in store for the D12’s Tributes at the Opening Ceremonies? True to form, a sly smile crept coyly across his face as he said, “Let’s just say, when you play with fire, you don’t always get burned.”

As we reach the date of the release into theater, I'll be posting a lot more in regards to "The Hunger Games" (something I started doing a few months back).
