"Secret Crowds" by Angles and Airwaves
The lyrics of this song is a huge reason I listen to this: "If I had my own world, I'd build you an empire, From here to the far lands, To spread love like violence."
It's about just love. Loving the planet, the people, without hate or violence for that matter. Making those that hurt, feel better. Kind of like a feel good anthem for my generation or the next one for that matter. I think the band touched upon a good subject for a song. Most bands for the youth are writing too many love songs or about some sad story. The good nature of what music was originally, besides love, was always about something important in some way. Some had such great feel good beats.
It was one of the reasons bands such as "The Beatles", were so popular.
Anyway, even though the lead singer is originally from the alternative punk-rock band, Blink 182, Tom DeLonge is more about love, expanding the mind, and peace with music. He is also married and has a kid. So his world view has changed too. Hence the song I chosen.
Oh. I like this one. I am going to have to buy it :)

Nice choice! I love Tom!
ReplyDelete@ Sarah, No problem! You should check out their first album! They have some amazing stuff...
ReplyDelete@NaKesha, Anytime! And I love sharing music that is amazing with those that haven't heard it yet!
@ Jess, Tom is pretty cool! He even wrote a song not just for his wife, but I know off his new album there is a song supposedly that is about his daughter too. I think that is such a sweet thing to do. I know the bands lead singers of "Staind" and "Rise Against" also did that for their daughters too.
I really enjoyed this song! I knew of Angels & Airwaves but didn't realise the lead singer was from Blink 182. I'll have to tell a friend of mine about them since she loved Blink 182 SO MUCH. Thanks for playing it! :)
ReplyDelete@ Jennifer, well sometimes that happens, we don't realize so we have to take a double look when we see it again. But it's better late then never! :)
ReplyDeleteI knew Tom had his own side project but, I think this is the first time I've heard anything from his new band. It's really good! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDelete@ Jen D., No problem! And make sure to check out the rest fo the 1st album. It's such an amazing one!
